"That is the first time I have heard of a hypnosis session described as gorgeous. What did Shannon do?" asked Dr Yapko.
I think after that I dissociated -something I learned is a common thing we do-as in when people daydream while looking out the window at leaves moving around, or driving and snapping to with a time skip. I swear the cats do it too. This in an international cohort of licensed therapists and doctors in 100 hour training with the leading clinician on clinical hypnosis but also-breaking the patterns of depression. Ya, I can do gorgeous hypnosis experiences.

Continuing on in 2024: Turns out clinical hypnosis is quite powerful-even when you think we are just musing over the grass feeling good on our feet, or looking out over the ocean on the horizon at the little boat. The only annoyance I find so far is that when someone I am practicing with totally gets their shift they were seeking, they have not noticed that it was exactly what we worked on in the hypnosis! Do I have to put in a good word for myself in the session lol?
Even when Long COVID tried to frickin kill me, keep me a zombie for so long, I made a total attitude shift with that short practice session with a colleague. I gave her gorgeous imagery to enjoy during her turn to be hypnotized and when I was the one as "client" she gave me an entire shift from regret and agony over what I couldn't do because of Long COVID, to enjoying my senses even just standing on the grass, looking at my incredible labyrinth garden in bloom. Clinical hypnosis took an idea I wanted, an aspiration and transformed it into an experience I had in the practice session and then as soon as stepped on to the grass after class ended-magical newfound awareness. I didn't just design, grown and care for this garden for everyone else to enjoy, I also grew it for me and this moment as well as the next 2 years while I held on till more recovery came so that finally, this last month, no crashing!!!!
Now in 2024 I am using the new Yapko made clinical hypnosis app, Claria to test it out as a tool for better thinking, feeling and living. I had some great shifts just a few days in and now I am at skill 8 of 12-it's a new daily habit I look forward to. My purpose in it is to keep caring for me so I can be a catalyst for better for others. I will report back more on this later. I am excited to get back to creating my own hypnosis sessions again. Soon, soon soon!
